Giving a Voice to the Silence offers positive angles to the issue that faces those with mental illness. Living with Schizo-Affective Disorder and being able to share my experiences with others, is the best way I know how to pay it forward. Life can be difficult, my goal is to bring a bit of hope to a place where many feel there is none.

About

Kelly was born in the Northeast part of the United States.  During High school something drew her to writing as a creative outlet, writing poetry and short stories.   As the years went by photography became another creative medium, focusing mainly on nature as she traveled to the United States and Korea in the military.

After her military career, she made a living through writing, working for several newspapers, websites, and blogs.  To supplement the small income, she took a job in the hospitality field for 10 years.  All the time though keeping up with her writing and photography.

Her writing has taken her to focus not only writing short stories and but maintaining a blog to focus on Mental Illness Advocacy. Her writing is to educate those who live with Mental Illness and their families and bring the conversation out into the open to banish the stigma.

In addition, to help with her own challenges with Mental Illness, Kelly spends many days taking photographs and spending time outdoors to enjoy with calming effects of nature.  (we can find Her photos on her Website, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest)

Kelly lives in SouthEast Texas with her husband.
